The only bright point is that it doesn’t take effect until July, 2010, so there is still time to stock up (if you can find what you need) before you lose the ability to remain somewhat anonymous. Of course, that depends on what part of California you live in; some areas already require this. These places say this has already resulted in the solving of several crimes. Of course, places that ban guns claim it has reduced crime, too. All it has done is shift the crimes from being committed by a criminal with a gun to a criminal with some other weapon, and prevent citizens from defending their family and home. Not a good trade. Not good at all.

Said legislation attempted to disable the right to bear arms as federally protected and subject it to local ordinance.  Until recent years, this little known aspect of the law was not nearly as threatening as it has become today.  It has become a hindrance to the 2^nd Amendment in this day and time due to overzealous attempts by liberals to outlaw legitimate gun ownership.  It was this legislation which allowed the current gun bans in various cities to occur in the first place.  As the Supreme Court moves into its 2009-2010 session, it has agreed to hear a case on this issue that will have far reaching and potentially fantastic – or devastating – consequences for our Constitutional rights.

This latest case to come before our highest bench is a very important case, and it is deserving of our intense scrutiny.  It will determine the right of an individual to exercise his Constitutional right – versus a city or state who is in opposition to that same right.  It is very similar in nature to District of Columbia. v.. Heller, a recent case which struck down a handgun ban in the Washington D.C. district, which was a victory for gun owners by only one vote.

In that instance, the high court ruled that Washington hand gun bans were unconstitutional and home owners did indeed have a right to have a gun in their home for self defense.  That settled that issue for Washington proper, but not for the rest of the nation.

What has the potential to red flag this case for supporters of Constitutional rights, is simply this: The right for Washitonians to exercise their 2^nd Amendment right to bear arms was barely upheld.  As the 5-4 victory for gun owners in that case clearly shows – it was close, too close. One justice carried the day for a vital fundamental liberty.  

And this case only applied to the District of Columbia, aka: Washington.  This new case has vastly far more reaching impact because it affects the entire nation, not just one federal district that is not even a state in the first place. There is a lot more here on the line, nationwide – not just in one small corner of our nation’s capital. 

If advocates for the Second Amendment succeed here, this will strike a devastating blow to the far left liberal wing’s anti-constitutional efforts to strip Americans of this most basic, but fundamental freedom.  On the other hand, if a fickle wind blows and the Justices fail to uphold the right of the individual; this will be an equally devastating blow to our rights as Americans, nationwide.

Nevertheless, the good news is that in spite of the very controversial recent appointment of Sonia Sotomayor, not much has really changed in the balance of power on the bench at SCOTUS.  The five esteemed Justices, who upheld the Constitution for citizens of Washington in the District of Columbia, are still on the bench to hear this latest case. And this case was not brought about by gun control zealots. 

On the contrary: It was brought about by the National Rifle Association, and gun owners, and advocates of the right to bear arms such as attorney Alan Gura, who won success for the Second Amendment in District of Columbia v. Heller, and is representing in this case, as well.

The new case to come before our highest court this session will no doubt also be greatly aided by Mr. Gura’s expertise and experience, and thankfully, the power of the NRA will come to full swing here also in rallying support for this case. 

Because the case at issue now is National Rifle Association v. Chicago/McDonald v. Chicago.  And it comes to light on behalf of among others, gun owner Otis McDonald, who wishes to exercise his right to bear arms and keep a firearm for protection in his home, in the wake of threats against his life levied by local Chicago drug dealers.  Another extremely interesting aspect of this particular case, is that is seeks to buttress all rights for individuals versus the state, under the protection of another Constitutional right, the Fourteenth Amendment. 

The 14th Amendment is to insure that states do not override Constitutional freedoms.  Here is a quote from an article on this case and the 14^th Amendment aspect:

The gun rights cause is not limited to conservatives. Libertarians and some self-proclaimed progressives say the court should rule that the Bill of Rights’ protections are a privilege of U.S citizenship….The 14th Amendment says that states may not “abridge the privileges” of a U.S. citizen. At the time the amendment was written, this was seen as extending the rights — such as freedom of speech or freedom from unreasonable searches — to protect citizens against state and local officials. However, the Supreme Court disagreed in 1873, and this provision was left unenforceable….In the Chicago case, the justices agreed to rule on whether the 2nd Amendment and its right “to keep and bear arms” was a privilege of citizenship.

“The correct answer to this question should be important to all Americans, not just those focused on gun rights,” said Doug Kendall, president of the Constitutional Accountability Center, a liberal think tank. He and other scholars argue that reviving the privileges clause would strengthen other constitutional rights.

And while Mr. McDonald’s need and right to protect himself in his own home, against drug dealers, seems perfectly reasonable and perfectly legal to most Americans, this is not the case in Mr. McDonalds neck of the woods. Why?

Because this is not farmer McDonald of Old McDonald fame.  This is Otis McDonald of Chicago. And perhaps more than any other city which could be used as example, the plight of Otis McDonald and the Chicago gun bans which place his life in jeopardy, bring to the table perhaps the most telling aspect of why gun control is really nothing more than a blatant joke to criminals and a penalty to legal and constitutionally protected gun ownership. 

And it is a penalty enforced by leftist liberal gun control zealots that not only undermines our freedom, but places average American’s like Mr. McDonald in a hazardous and defenseless state even within the bounds of that most sacred of realms – the walls of their own home. 

Another interesting aspect of this case is the irony that it blatantly demonstrates the futility of trying to outlaw perfectly legitimate gun ownership as a means to stop illegal crime and murder in particular. 

This case began in Chicago. Crime infested with gangs, drugs, and frequent murder.  It is ironic that gun control advocates like to uphold gun bans in cities like Chicago, because the soaring crime and murder rates in such “controlled” enclaves clearly demonstrate that these laws hinder no one except lawful citizens who wish to exercise their right to own a firearm for protection – citizens like Mr. McDonald in cities like Chicago, where drive by shootings and murder are just an everyday part of the landscape in a city where guns are banned.

Yes, Chicago.  No longer merely the “Windy City”, but the city of rabid, racist preachers like the anti-American Jeremiah Wright, and the no less rabid but far more prominent, radical Muslim extremist Louis Farrakhan and the national headquarters for his Nation of Islam.  And let’s not forget: The windy city of Chicago also blows us away, with far left liberal Congressmen like House Representative Bobby Rush (D-IL).

Former Black Panther, Congressman Bobby Rush, whose own son was shot down in the street in Chicago some years back in a possible drug scandal, came charging forward as soon he was sworn in this past winter with the most sweeping gun control legislation to ever confront our 2^nd Amendment.  Bobby’s latest legislation before the house is H.R. 45: Also known as “Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009”.

H.R. 45 is currently in committee pending before arriving at Congress to be put to a vote, and it is aimed not only at Chicago gun owners, but it is also aimed at legal gun owners nationwide.  If Bobby’s legislation succeeds in its intent, gun owners who have committed no crime will nevertheless be penalized as criminals who are in need of federal supervision for nothing more than exercising their Constitutional right to bear arms.

But back to the Supreme Court and the ramifications of the current 2^nd Amendment case scheduled for that court this session. 

The bottom line here in this latest case, National Rifle Association v. Chicago/McDonald v. Chicago, is that this is a really HUGE roll of the dice for the NRA, and supporters of the Second Amendment.  In spite of the risk, I believe it to be a wise choice – before further changes occur on the bench, and the window to cement our rights at our Supreme Court of the United States is forever closed.

In light of the current anti-second amendment philosophy in our current Senate, House of Representatives, and on Capital Hill, as well the potential for the current administration to seize the reigns of even our Judicial branch with further upcoming appointments to the bench in the up and coming near years ahead, this is the time to set down forever in stone from the highest court in our land that the fundamental right to bear arms is an individual liberty protected and secured by the Constitution. 

And it is not subject to the opinions of individuals, nor cities, nor even states. Nor is it subject to “change” at the whim of a socialist agenda movement.  It is a Constitutional right secured by our founding fathers for us, the inheritors of their causes. We are the people, and the 2^nd Amendment is a right of the people, not subject to “change”.  It is now or never to insure it stays that way in the near and distant future.

If we are going to find any hope from our Supreme Court insofar as protecting our right to bear arms, we will likely find what is left of support for that fundamental liberty now, rather than later.

“Let’s make sure everyone knows the Tea Party crowd is frightening”.

Last Thursday, in a news conference, she gave a stunning high drama performance. All the elements were there: The crying, the pauses for effect leaving her at a loss for words, and references to past violent acts that have absolutely nothing to do with what is occuring in the Tea Party movement.

Here are some highlights from an article on Nancy’s statements written by Laurie Kellan at the Associated Press:

“WASHINGTON – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that the anti-government rhetoric over President Barack Obama’s health care reform effort is troubling because it reminds her of the violent debate over gay rights that roiled San Francisco in the 1970s.”

“On Thursday, Pelosi was answering a question about whether the current vitriol concerned her. The questioner did not refer to the murders of Milk or Moscone, or the turmoil in San Francisco three decades ago. Pelosi referenced those events on her own and grew uncharacteristically emotional…….Pelosi’s office did not immediately respond to a request for examples of contemporary statements that reminded the speaker of the rhetoric of 1970s San Francisco.”

“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw … I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco,” Pelosi said, choking up and with tears forming in her eyes. “This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and … I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made.”

Nancy never did bother to explain how she relates the murder of gay activist Harvey Milk to the Tea Party movement, nor has she been able to provide any evidence of this “danger”, or of Nazism, on behalf of the participants of the Tea Party efforts. She’s just “frightened”. Could it be she is really just frightened that her political career is rapidly declining? Or that her effort to force Socialism down our throats is not going over so easily?

Not content to slander the Tea Party movement unjustly as “Nazis”, Nancy has now unleashed the fear tactic. This is troubling, but not surprising. Fear is the tactic of tyranny and is used in many ways. As is slander, as is scapegoating.

Joe Wilson is an excellent example of scapegoating. And Hitler loved slander. His slander and scapegoating tactics convinced the German people that six million innocent Jews deserved to be butchered and sent to the ovens.

Shame on you Hitler. And shame on you Nancy Pelosi for your perpetual attempts to shame and slander decent Americans as mentally deficient Nazis who are a threat to the nation. If there is anything “frightening” going on here, it is the hate campaign you are continuously unleashing against these innocent people from your podium on the Hill. That is frightening, and it is disgraceful.

I said as soon as I saw the video that the “these people are frightening” mantra would now become the new liberal propaganda against those who oppose them. And it has. It took no time at all for the far left to rally to that cry, and even for local editors to print articles about the Tea Party movement based on Nancy’s unfounded and melodramatic performance.

Only Madam Speaker Pelosi knows why she is so frightened. But we should all be frightened of her rhetoric. We have seen this slander tactic before (see Hitler).

The American people watching from the sidelines are not sure what is going on. All they know is that according to Nancy Pelosi and her liberal left propaganda machine – which includes the mainstream media, we are Nazis, we are racists, and we are supposedly dangerous.

It never occurred to her that we are simply Americans who are exercising our Constitutional right to protest efforts by her party to destroy our beloved country with Socialism. And that, is the real danger. The only thing Americans should be “frightened” of is the success of such efforts by the far left liberal wing.

As we pray for the safety and peace of both our nation and our President, let us also pray that the threat of the agenda of the far left vanishes from the national landscape with the light of understanding shining boldly upon it:

May that understanding drive the troubling agenda of liberals from the shadows, and into the blinding light of day, where it can be exposed, and seen to be the disturbing and un-American politics that it truly has become.

And before we condemn innocent Americans as Nazis and a threat to society, let us also dare to recognize the Politics of Shame for what it is: A disgraceful tactic to gain political power on the part of the left – who has repeatedly demonstrated they are so devoid of moral and ethical conduct, that they would embrace slander, and rally beneath it’s foul and tyrannical banner.

Be proud of yourself America for not bowing down to the lie. I know you are not Nazis, and I know you are not dangerous. I salute your endeavors. Godspeed, and for everyone’s sake, may you prevail with peace, with dignity, and with the honorable colors of our sacred banner flying freely in your midst, as you exercise the liberty that is your birthright through the sacrifices of our founding fathers.

They are marching with you in spirit, it is their just cause you have rallied to, and it is your inalienable and Constitutional right to continue the animating contest for freedom.

Joe Wilson defiant in advance of vote:

“A defiant Joe Wilson took to the House floor Tuesday afternoon and declined to apologize for shouting “You lie!” at President Obama during a joint session of Congress last week – just hours before the House was set to vote on a resolution of disapproval excoriating him for the remark. In a one-minute speech, Wilson reiterated that over the August recess he had seen unrelenting opposition to Obama’s health care reform push from constituents.

“These were passionate events full of honest patriots,” Wilson said.

The vote to sanction Wilson, meanwhile, took on an increasingly racial tone, with Democrats saying that Wilson needed to be formally reprimanded for an action against the nation’s first black president that crossed the line. Debate should begin on the House floor around 2 p.m.

“I think there was a racial element,” said Rep. Steve Cohen, who is white but represents a heavily black Tennessee district. “I’d be sad if any Democrats voted no and I feel saddened for the Republicans that will vote no.”

“There is a fringe element that does feel racial hatred toward African-Americans,” said Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.), who also said he plans to vote in support of the resolution today.

While acknowledging that Wilson apologized to the president – an apology that Obama accepted – House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told reporters on Tuesday that the South Carolina Republican “also offended the good order of the House.”

Meanwhile, over at CBS News, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele issued his stinging rebuttal to the efforts of the Democrats to publically shame Joe Wilson with smokescreening. Quoting the CBS article, and specifically Michael Steele:

“In another stunning example of hypocrisy, congressional Democrats are wasting taxpayers’ time and resources on a legislative measure to censure Congressman Joe Wilson so they don’t have to talk about their exceedingly unpopular health care plan,” said Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele in a statement.

“If we are going to march members down to the well of the House to apologize, Joe Wilson is going to have to get in line behind Nancy Pelosi, who attacked the intelligence community who protects us, Charlie Rangel who cheated on his taxes, Jack Murtha – a walking scandal, and we all know how the Democratic leadership tried to protect William Jefferson,” added Steele. “Democrats don’t want an apology. They want a side show.”

Two things are for sure: Joe Wilson has apologized enough. In fact, since the passing of the House resolution condemning him as a public disgrace, the truth has unfolded. Joe Wilson was right, and he was telling the truth. Obama was being extremely deceptive when he made the speech that prompted Joe Wilson’s “You Lie” outburst. Obama does not plan to insure “illegal aliens”. He plans to legalize them and THEN insure them via the healthcare bill. Joe Wilson has now been vindicated by the exposure of Obama’s plan above.  I wonder if Obama will apologize to Joe Wilson, and to the nation, for hoodwinking them with this extremely clever Chicago style lawyer doublespeak?  Somehow, I doubt it.  And if your not hearing much about this latest revelation on Obama’s plans for legalizing and insuring illegal aliens, just remember the recent ACORN scandal: The media does not like to tell on Obama.

But back to the disgraceful scapegoating of Joe Wilson by the hypocritical House. The other certainty is that we will never hear Obama and the liberals apologize for the fraud and waste of entities like ACORN, and it is odd to me that their clemency extends to inmates at Gitmo, but is oddly void when it comes to Joe Wilson. And yes, we can argue he was on the floor, but even Obama accepted his apology, and Nancy said prior to the house resolution condemning Joe Wilson, that we needed to “move on”.

By all means Nancy: Move on. You will not be missed.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the Joe Wilson charade at the House, former President Jimmy Carter was on the news the other night with the latest liberal “their racist” mantra. Shame on you Mr. Carter.

Mr. Carter stated that white Americans were not accepting Obama because he is black, and that this was an “Abominable Circumstance”.

I beg to differ with Mr. Carter. American’s are not angry at Obama because he is black. They are angry because he is destroying our country with efforts to socialize it and engage in massive government spending.

It is definitely, an Obaminable Circumstance. And it certainly is abominable.

The racist slander mantra is really heating up folks. When does it stop? I don’t know. Maybe when the last person who dared speak freely apologizes. Maybe when the last dime they can rob us of to prop up entities like ACORN is finally squeezed to the limit.

Or maybe when Americans finally decide that they have had enough of this Obaminable Circumstance, and decide their freedom is worth standing up for. Let’s hope they have this figured out by 2010. To do less, is truly, abominable.

In Chapter I, Mises lays out the basics for his underlying understanding of man’s process of decision-making, and thus his approach to economics.  He spends much time defining exactly what human action is, and is not.  Human action is any conscience decision, whether it results in physical action or words or neither, made by a human being.  It is not simply a bodily reflex.  Additionally, Mises is explicit in explaining that human action must be preceded by an “uneasiness”, or belief that things could be better, and by a belief, or hope, that the situation can be rectified in some way by that person.

Mises explains that “human action” is an ultimate given, or an ultimate truth, the kind that cannot be further examined or broken down by scientific approaches.  While we can imagine, and Mises would probably concede this, that in the future we will understand much more about our physical world, which could diminish the domain of this ultimate given, for the moment the author maintains that we much adopt a dualist methodology, one broken down into the physcial world, which can be subjected to scientific analysis, and the world of human thought, which, at present, cannot be broken down by an explanation of physical components.

Additionally, Mises goes into some depth to explain happiness and utility, inasmuch as they are seen as goals of man.  The primary point, I believe, is that it does not matter much whether the goals are happiness or utility as other people would see it, because the only important factor is that the acting man is looking to sort out some sort of uneasiness in a fashion which would please him.  Each man’s utility and happiness are different, and cannot be deciphered.  We must assume that, and it is logical, that the acting man is acting on his own psychological behalf.  Also, the action is rational, whether others think it is useful or not, because the person used his own analytical processes to reach the decision.

In conclusion, Mises is interested in praxeology, the study of human action.  The psychological aspects preceding the action are outside of the sphere of this approach, with the exception of the given that man is acting on his own behalf, to relieve some sort of uneasiness, or to achieve some level of happiness or utility.

Today, it is no longer unfashionable to curse the American government. We have voided our claim to liberty and have adorned ourselves with the bonds of oppression. It is now the solemn duty of all “Sons of Liberty” to rejoin the war against tyranny, which we ceased so long ago.

Our apathy and our ignorance over the last one hundred years have led us to the tipping point of true socialism. Our avarice for more, combined with our sloth, has driven us to demand everything from our government and everything from our neighbor, as we, ourselves, offer less and less. Our forgotten disdain for governmental intrusion imperils our very lives. But, our history of struggles against jack-booted thuggery and elitist oppression are but seldom heard mythological tales, much like the slaying of dragons or Cyclopes. Very few modern day Americans would don the armor and unsheathe the blade to defend friend and family from one-eyed giants, much less a billion-dollar million-man leviathan.

To speak only of modern cowardice and sloth is to minimize the true proportions of our peril. We have come to not only fear and submit to the beast, but we have come to love it.

As we fly millions of red, white, and blue flags, we fight back tears of love for the machine which owns us. No longer do our flags represent defiance to monarchs and dictators, but instead embody the extension of military might into foreign lands, represent the governmental safety net of free cheese and food stamps, proclaim the redistribution of private wealth, and signify the subservience to a new lord.

We, entrusted with the protection and continuation of a noble idea, must awake from a media and government propaganda-induced narcosis to take proper stock of our present situation and critically analyze the steps being taken on our behalf in the District of Columbia in order to lay the foundation of the future home of our children and our grandchildren. Each of us must also take stock of ourselves, and assess our place in this process, and what kind of world we are allowing others to leave to our descendants.

If we find ourselves complacent, ignorant, or submissive to the aims of those in power, we will deserve the regimes thrust upon us, and we will require explanations or apologies to our offspring. For the powers which “represent” us will continue to act with or without our consent. Men and women in power are a form of inertia. They continue to consolidate power and enact legislation according to their personal views of the world and according to their benefit from the government’s action until and unless they are stopped by an external force. The citizenry of our country are required to use that force, or become subject to the whims and delights of insular political ambitions.

It is no longer sufficient to complain to your family and your neighbor that government is beyond our control and that all of them are corrupt. It is no longer sufficient to remove your posterior from your sofa to choose from the lesser of two evils every two or four years. It is no longer sufficient to demand meaningless consolations from politicians who are constructing governmental programs explicity designed to remove individual liberty from the big equation.

Our leviathan nanny has matured and strengthened, and there are men and women holding the reins of power who have a belief that the beast will protect, nourish, clothe, and heal us. It matters not that the beast requires the restriction of our liberties, our choices in life, and even our freedom of thought. If we are to suckle the monster, it is not an option to reject the offer of “kindness”.

We, and our parents and grandparents, have sat quietly and allowed our overlord to grow unabated, and have swallowed every possible explanation for the necessity of governmental growth. Through incremental measures we have surrendered our independence from it, and have necessarily become more reliant and weak. If we are ever to regain our liberty and independence, it must be now. It must take place before the present administration and its fellow travelers remove the methods of resistance. We must begin utilizing the atrophied muscles of dissent and resistance before such actions become implausible through the removal of the tools of discontent: firearms, independent media, and local governmental action. All are under attack, and will fall more heavily so in the near future.

Ladies and gentlemen of America, we must protect our heritage now, or bequeath to our children an oppressive tyranny which we were too lazy and indifferent to vanquish.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the master mind of 911 and four compatriot prisoners at Gitmo, have just released a statement chronicled on CNN that declares their actions on the “blessed 911 day” entitle them to “badges of honor”.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed goes on to declare to America:

“Your end is very near and your fall will be just as the fall of the towers on the blessed 911 day”

Finally, he states what should be obvious even to the most ardent liberal simpleton:

“We are terrorists to the bone”

Meanwhile, back on the hill in Washington, we can only assume that the new Sheriff in town, Eric Holder, has unpacked his briefcase from his recent trip to Gitmo, and in between writing speeches where he declares Americans to be “Cowards” and working on new gun control legislation to neuter the Second Amendment, he is also working on facilitating Obama’s plans to bring these gentlemen to America and grant them Constitutional rights in our courts of law.

Which somewhat makes one ponder: Sir, are you truly worthy of that badge? Do the words “serve and protect” ring a bell?

Speaking of protecting: Mr. Holder, can you in good conscience ignore the deaths of over half a million Americans who gave their lives for the protection of our nation,  and 3,000 innocents whose only crime was going to work on the morning of 911? 

And if you must bring them here, can you please build them a tent city in YOUR neighborhood? Congressman Murtha (D-PA), thus far the only legislator willing to allow them in his state, can’t be trusted to properly contain them.

But before you rescue these “victims” from the “heinous” Gitmo, whose environs far surpass any treatment they would recieve in one of their own prisons, let me just remind you of something.

Over twenty five thousand Americans also gave their lives in a quaint little war known historically as “The American Revolution”.  They did so in order to install a document known as the “Constitution” – which was written in the blood of our patriots to protect OUR Constitutional rights – not the rights of our enemies.

And while your soaring rhetoric on “torture” is noted, and your compassion for those who wish to see us destroyed is almost touching, the truth is, not one of these individuals is worthy of the blood our soldiers have shed to install the protections OUR people are entitled too. Not one of them. Much less all of them.

And so from here, your badge appears tarnished and your supposedly good intentions misplaced. And by the way,  just what is it with you and your determination to assist terrorists? There you were at your confirmation hearing, lamenting your past mistakes for aiding and abetting “other” terrorists.  My goodness. Such fleeting repentance onboard.

And since your President is also determined to defend and protect our enemies while castrating our national defense and GI Joe, I would like for you and he to know:

When you bring these people here to our country, or when we face another terror attack because the two of you have utterly mauled our successful security measures, the blood of innocent murdered Americans, in numbers yet untold, will be upon your hands, and your hands alone.

So, before you aid and abet these unrepentant ”terrorists to the bone”, I want you to understand that you are in opposition to over half a million dead Americans who gave their lives to insure that our citizenry was protected from our enemies. 

Their voices now are silenced by their sacrifice, as are the voices of the 3,000 TRUE victims these men murdered on 911. 

We’ve heard yet again from Al Qaeda today Mr. Holder.  Sadly, its the voices you don’t seem to hear that deserve to be heard.  How many more voices will be silenced by your folly?

A leisurely country drive through Georgia will reveal an astounding botanical phenomena,  as whole stretches of forest, abandoned houses and cars, power poles, telephone lines, fences – anything that stands or sits still, is covered in the ever creeping Kudzu vine of Asia. 

In the semi light of dusk or early morning fog where things appear by nature somewhat eerie, the surreal view of a Kudzu encased forest can be somewhat thought provoking to say the least. 

Initially imported to the South to halt erosion, Kudzu has become a green menace which smothers the countryside it embraces.

Throughout Georgia and the southern states, at a growth rate of a foot a day, half an inch an hour, Kudzu is notoriously insidious and has been found nearly impossible to eradicate even with pesticides. It can take up to ten years to kill a Kudzu vine.  Apparently the only surefire way to rid ones property of Kudzu is too invest in enough livestock to eat it – which would be a considerable amount of livestock.  Kudzu has been called “The vine that ate the South”.  

To ignore the first sprouting of Kudzu come your way, is to surrender your property and personal environment to the indestructible and voracious Kudzu vine, which can live on concrete, and when in soil, sucks the very life’s blood of nutrients out of the ground, thereby simultaneously smothering and starving other surrounding plant life, including whole trees [read stretches of forest]. 

At a growth rate of a foot a day, Kudzu does not “creep”: It marches. 

Reminiscent of Union General Sherman’s march to the sea, Kudzu advances onward through the South: Unstoppable and as indestructible as it is destructive.  Left unchecked, no southern landscape can survive intact and healthy under it’s strangling embrace.  Had the South been able to entice the Yankees to stand still long enough, Kudzu would have carried the day and won the war without firing a shot.

Throughout the primaries, voices warned America that Obama and the far left liberal camp would bring Socialism to bare down upon our Free Republic.  Tragically, the voices that pronounced prophetic and accurate warnings were drowned out by other voices screaming “Yes we can”. 

Yes, you can. But that does not mean you should.  In fact, damn you for doing such a thing.

And so they won the election with their mantra of unspecified change and the politically ignorant mob voted a man and an administration into office who stand poised to destroy our country with unprecedented nationalization, goverment intrusion, massive spending and anti-constitutional philosophies – such as derailing the census to gain more democratic votes, anti-second amendment gun control, and a back door fairness doctrine via “diversity in ownership” of the airwaves.

And now, here we stand on the brink of financial collapse as a nation about to sit prostrate to a liberal government intent on social re-engineering even if it means bankrupting the country – and they take with our prosperity, our liberties in tow.

This past fall, in one of many gaffes, Vice President Joe Biden warned America that we would have to “Gird our Loins” if Obama was elected.  Alluding to a testing yet to come, an unnamed threat, and loyalties which would be pushed to the limit, he exhorted his compatriots to remember his words and stand by Obama even though it would seem like the wrong decision.  And so, we were told to gird our loins.

America, indeed the time has come to gird your loins. The girding of them however, should not be to submit to the advance of Socialism in our great nation. The girding of your loins should be in preparation to defend your country and your liberties from this Socialist onslaught. 

The current administration is not attempting to save America. They are attempting to keep their promise: They are attempting to “change” America. 

Obama brilliantly campaigned his way to the White House on an unspecified promise of “Change” for America.  Another individual once sought such “change” for free societies, and in fact, his desire for ”change” was so intense that it was inscribed upon his tombstone though it wrought the death of millions of innocent people.

There is a cemetery in London called “Highgate”, where sits his tomb with the following inscription:

“The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways.  The point however is to change it.”

 Along with “Workers of the World Unite”, the above inscription was placed upon the tomb of Karl Marx, founder of Communism, by the Communist Party of Britain in 1954. 

To understand what “change” means in a Free Republic to Socialists and Communists is to understand the difference between freedom  for all and a Socialist State – wherein individual liberty is forfeited for the “good of the nation”. 

This is the “change” Socialists wish to see manifest in a free republic. This is the change we have now seen thrust upon us in the coming days ahead.

Too many Americans have turned a deaf ear and a blind eye to the meaning of Socialism.  Karl Marx knew and stated that Socialism was merely a transitional period from Capitalism to Communism. As did his brethren.  Vladimir Lenin, Prime Minister of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, founder of the Russian Communist Party frankly stated:

“The goal of Socialism is Communism”

The Obama administration continues to attempt to delude the American public on the Stimulus, the Omnibus Bill, and the proposed budget by seizing the opportunity of a crisis and amplifying it to make it seem neccessary for these massive spending bills – which will have little to do with stimulating the economy, but offer up an unprecedented blank check for liberals to install social programs. 

Lauding the necessity of these massive spending bills, while remaining silent on the government intrusion that will accompany them and thus downplaying the impact both to our economy and our liberties, the current administration is breaking their word on earmarks, breaking the back of the national economy, and leading us all down the thorny trail to a deprivation of liberty and financial ruin the likes of which our founding fathers would recognize as grounds for independence from a government so contrary to the best interests of the people.

Obama wooed this nation as a charlatan would woo a damsel in distress, but he is no hero and the distress America will yet face will be wrought by his hand.

Our country will not be saved with such spending measures on everything from millions for tattoo removal, lobster observation in Maine, a Buffalo Bill museum in Wyoming, and funds for notoriously corrupt Acorn:  In all over 9,000 such earmarks in the Omnibus bill alone – also known as “H.R. 1105: Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009″.

It would behoove every American with loins girded, to listen to what the current Administration is saying – while watching what they do.

When one says one thing, but does another, its wise to consider the contradiction.  I’ll listen to what you say – but I’ll watch what you do. And when your actions contradict your words, I’ll know your talk was cheap. Obama has claimed he is restoring our economy - while every step he takes is a step down the path to our national ruin.

He is hell bent to enact his liberal socialist agenda and one method of insuring it’s success is to bring our people to their knees in the breadlines. The only thing his “Stimulus Bill” stimulates is poverty and further dependance on the government. Those served by the “Omnibus Bill” are those in federal government who will reap the earmarks and the salary increases. Neither of these bills serve the restoration of our economy.  They serve Obama’s agenda. Period.

Like the invasive Kudzu vine, Obama’s “Creeping Socialism” isn’t creeping at all: It is marching.   It is not halting the erosion of our economy. It will cause it to hemorrhage and bleed to death. It is not a cure all, but a plague upon our freedom – as a people soon to be broken and destitute cling sadly to what is left of their liberties. 

Without firing a shot, Obama’s creeping socialism has the potential to nullify the blood and sacrifice of our patriots who have given their lives for over 200 years on battlefields around the world to first install, and then protect, our freedom and our prosperity.

Gird thy loins America: Not to support Socialist change and destructive economics, but to oppose them.  This is the time and this is the place to halt this “change.”  America is a free republic. Do not allow her freedoms and her prosperity to become strangled by the importation of political ideals as foreign to our way of life as the imported Kudzu vine was foreign to our soil.

If we abandon our principles and sit idly by and allow Obama’s socialist vine to continue to take root and spread under the guise of “helping” our country, our great nation will become strangled in its grip as surely as an abandoned farm in Georgia finds itself smothered and unrecognizable in the insidious grip of Kudzu.  Such a change is a death sentence to our nation as we know it. With loins girded, Americans must oppose this blueprint for ruin.

Call them, write them, shout it from your keyboard or from your rooftop: Halt the passing of the Omnibus bill and further attempts at massive spending and social re-engineering.  Contact your legislators and advise them you are holding them accountable for every dollar spent, for every effort by Washington to advance the Socialist liberal agenda.

Remember yourselves America: Don’t sit in silence and watch this go down without taking a stand. Fight back and oppose the destruction of our country. America does not have to face her demise at the hands of politicians with political ideals foreign and contrary to our freedom, our economy, and our best interest.

We do not have to submit to this “change”.  We can stop the destruction of our great nation. With loins girded: Yes, we can.

Why should we continue to pay for our mortgages? Millions of Americans will have their loans refinanced with very favorable terms, thanks to our socialist government and our taxes. I have no doubt that many people will even have their homes provided to them completely gratis. There is simply no incentive for the average citizen to continue to pay for their houses when their taxes are being used to pay for other people’s castles.

Is there any better indication that our country is no longer a constitutional republic, but is now a tyranny, ruled by a charismatic despot with no respect for the important historical underpinnings of our great land? The “American Dream” was to work hard, save, and eventually buy a warm safe abode, with our without a white picket fence, in which to raise a family. Most hard-working industrious men were able to accomplish this goal in years past.

The dream, however, has been sullied and perverted again and again in recent decades by intrusive governmental efforts to codify this goal as a RIGHT of every American resident, legal or illegal. Does it not devalue the toil of men and women to save and buy a modest home, if others are able to obtain hundreds of thousands of dollars for homes they simply cannot afford to purchase? Banks would never have approved of such lending in the past. But, legislators seeking to curry favor from minority groups have forced banks to make risky loans, and gave government guarantees to tens of thousands of unqualified borrowers. All stupid things must come to an ugly end.

If you are prone to grandiose conspiracy theories, there is none more sublime in its construction or devilish in its execution than the centralization of power taking place right now in our financial sector. It goes like this: Marxists in the Congress mandate loose lending to all potential homeowners under the guise of redressing past discrimination. Banks will no longer be able to use statistical formulae to ascertain the probability that the loans will be repaid, for these figures are obviously skewed to discriminate against people of color. The left-wing congressmen then wait for the inevitable mass default on millions of dollars of mortgages, which brings the banks to the precipice of collapse. At that moment, the saintly politicians rush in to “save” the banking system by absorbing the assets and nationalizing all financial activity, while demonizing greedy capitalists as the culprits. At this point, the central government effectively controls the means of production in our country – the literal definition of SOCIALISM.

The philosophical weakness of Marxism has always been the lack of individual incentive. IF wages are equal, regardless of skill or effort, the incentive to produce more than the weakest link is nil. Equally, if individuals are provided with money and homes for nothing, the incentive for most Americans to espouse a “Protestant work ethic” is compromised. As we suffer great pain and distress, supposedly due to falling productivity as a result of a trough in the business cycle, it is illogical to create more disincentives for higher productivity and effort. However, we all know that this economic malaise was the result of governmental meddling in financial affairs, Federal Reserve over-manipulation of the money supply, and political efforts to buy votes with our tax money. Of course, the solution to our crisis is MORE governmental control of the financial sector, more manipulation (printing) of the money supply by the Federal Reserve, and even greater attempts by politicians to buy votes with more and more and more governmental programs and give-aways.

The hard-working middle class are the suckers. We are suckers for working hard to get little, because others do no work to get the same, while the worth of everything we have toiled to attain is devalued by the government. We are suckers for saving and making mortgage payments on time, because others with no work or credit history get the same loans, and will get better terms when the government refinances those ill-advised instruments. We are suckers for believing in long-defiled core values of western civilization, for saluting a flag which has grown to represent a land which steals from its citizens to distribute to peoples of the rest of the world, for serving in the military of a country which has been hijacked by left-wing radicals promoting a rebranded form of Marxism.

Will we ever wake up and throw off the hands of tyranny? How many times will the government spit in our faces as we cry for a country which no longer exists? If we cannot understand socialism, centralization, consolidation, or nationalization, certainly we can comprehend the unfairness of working hard to pay our way while others do not. Or can we?
